I once found a painting on canvas in a beautiful old frame in a dumpster near my house. It was an old, naive painting with a rather interesting view. From the label on the back, I could see that it was a painting that was made in the USSR, but in a city that is now in Ukraine. I took the painting to my studio and began to recycle it in a sense – I first reinforced it on a poor quality canvas and then started to paint a new version in my own style – it took almost two years before I considered it finished.
